What to do when your laptop can’t be charged with USB-C

Introduction

The other day, I acquired a notebook computer Dynabook S73/HV.

An AC adapter (19V 2.37A 45W L-type plug) is included with this product, and it is assumed that power will be supplied using the AC adapter.

However, since it has one USB3.1 (Gen1) Type-C connector, I thought it might be possible to charge it with USB Type-C as well.

So, I tried connecting the USB Type-C cable I had on hand, but it wouldn’t charge.

I almost gave up at that point, but I was able to charge it with a smartphone charger that I owned separately.

This time, I will explain the differences in whether or not the battery can be charged depending on the charger.

Reason for not being able to charge

In conclusion, the reason why I couldn’t charge it in the first place was because I wasn’t using a cable or charger that supported USB PD.

USB PD is an abbreviation for USB Power Delivery. This is a USB Type-C power supply standard that can supply up to 240W of power with a USB cable.

It seems that the smartphone cable and charger I was using were not compatible with USB PD.

In the end, all you have to do is buy a cable and charger that support USB PD.

In the end, you can charge it by purchasing a cable and charger that support USB PD.

The power supply capacity varies depending on the charger, but if you are using a laptop, there will be no problem with the following chargers and cables.
